About Juha Palomäki
Juha Palomäki is a Finnish technology professional whose career spans software engineering, systems architecture, product development and technology leadership. What began as a childhood fascination with computers - starting with the Commodore VIC-20, followed by the MSX, Amiga 500 and early PCs - eventually became a profession. He holds a master’s degree in Computer Science from Aalto University.
Over the past three decades, he has worked across a wide range of industries, including healthcare, banking, insurance, consumer finance, sports betting, digital marketing and sustainability, particularly in the investment and ESG domain. His roles have ranged from hands-on software development and systems architecture to leading technology initiatives and product teams.
His technical background extends to infrastructure, cloud platforms, networking, virtualization, databases, distributed systems and modern software frameworks and security. This breadth provides an understanding of how technologies interact across the entire stack to solve real business problems.
Rather than specializing in a single discipline, Palomäki has built his career as a technical generalist. He enjoys working at the intersection of multiple domains, where solving problems often requires connecting ideas and people as much as writing code. While not aiming to be the deepest expert in every technology, his broad technical foundation allows him to quickly understand unfamiliar subjects and communicate effectively with specialists. This has proven valuable in projects that bring together engineering, product, business and domain experts to solve complex problems.
Artificial intelligence and machine learning have been part of his work since 2012, initially in predictive analytics, optimization and decision-support systems. The emergence of generative AI and autonomous software agents has accelerated that work dramatically, making it possible to build increasingly capable systems while amplifying the strengths of a broad technical background.
Today, Palomäki focuses on artificial intelligence, optimization, building agentic loops to fast track development of business applications and applying agentic workflows.
